Self Publisher Store was started by two men in the USA who wanted to get their books published but had come up against "The Publishing Industry" a very conservative medium. It seems that unless you are an established author or some sort of personality then you stand very little chance of having your book published by the conventional route and so they came up with the idea of www.selfpublisherstore.com which is a collection of self published authors who have bandied together under the SPS banner to offer a united front to book distributors. So far there are over 100 authors with over 300 titles available on the SPS website. Very soon we expect to receive the first order for our books from a major distributor. It has been as long time coming but I believe it will be well worth the wait.
SPS is helping to break the mould for all self published authors, so spread the word far and wide 2010 will be the year of the self published author.

Thanks, Terry, for taking the initiative. With all of us working together on one aspect or another we will not only make SPS work, but make it work well beyond our wildest dreams!

I am so thankful for SPS, and I really think it's going to change the publishing industry. I write teen fiction, and I can't wait for people everywhere to read and fall in love with my characters. I started writing the Royal Blood Chronicles because I wanted new strong female characters and so far the books are really well recieved. SPS gives new authors a collective voice and that makes us easier to hear. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Terry, I'm David Huffman, author of Grey Wolf A Novel In History, and I'm on Self Publisher Store, also. SPS will open the way for indie authors to get the exposure needed to catch the public eye and generate real sales.
ReplyDeleteThanks for starting the blog, I hope more SPS folks will participate.
Dave.
Hey everyone, don't forget to go to the Createspace message boards and check out Alex Stone's Tag My Book On Amazon thread. If you go to the latest page you'll find a list of everyone's books who are participating. You can link to each publication's Amazon page and scroll down to the Tags section. Simply click on all the tags you think are appropriate for the work in question, then click on "Agree with these tags?" Tagging helps improve the hit responses each book will get when a potential buyer types the tags into the search window on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteBy doing this we can help each other become more visible to the reading public.
Every little bit helps! :)
Dave.
